Old Trafford 100

"Another two goals, another match-winning performance, another team brutally dispatched by the player with gelled hair, tangerine boots and magic in his feet. The eulogies are beginning to sound repetitive, but nobody at Manchester United will mind while Cristiano Ronaldo is bewitching Old Trafford and seeing off all contenders to be known as the most devastating player in the Premier League. Has there ever been a United forward capable of wreaking such havoc?"

Daniel Taylor, The Guardian

Manchester United is about to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Old Trafford.  They've been counting down to the day and Ronny's freekick against Pompey was #93.
What Manutd.com had to say:

United strolled to a 2-0 win in the successful defence of the Premier League title, and Ronaldo's effort was a runaway winner of the club's goal of the season competition. At the time, the man himself admitted he had scored 'a great goal, probably my favourite,' while Sir Alex Ferguson was left purring by the precision of the strike. "It was within two inches of the junction of the bar and post,'' he marvelled. "It was a marvellous hit - no goalkeeper in the world could have saved that. That's one of the best free-kicks I've ever seen."

Ronny scored two today for his new club (not freekicks).
