U.S. Draws with Poland

I watched this match last night and couldn't believe my eyes when we scored the first goal.  Usually we are coming from behind in a dramatic fashion.  But Bob Bradley's boys came out of the blocks in a sprint.  Jozy Altidore was there for a superb goal from an even better buildup. And Oguchi Onyewu's header from a corner was fantastic.
Jermaine Jones (who switched playing for Germany) was on fire and teed up Altidore's goal.
Of course our defense wasn't up to the offensive level, aside from Tim Howard.  We made two critical mistakes in clearing the ball, all of which fell at the feet of the Poland...who scored.
So...we had positives on offense, but our defense looked erratic.
We were missing a few players (who are playing in leagues around the world), Landon Donovan being the most high-profile absentee.  Carlos Bocanegra, who played very well last night, will not be with the team on Tuesday in Philadelphia when they take on Colombia, as he is returning to Ligue 1 and Saint-Etienne.

As always...the Americans are a work in progress.

See all four goals here.
